Our Principal Mrs. Williams

Williams   Williams  Family

Dear Parents, Students, and Families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. I am honored to  introduce myself as the new principal of Priest River Junior High School (PRJH) and to be joining a team devoted to the success of student learning. I am committed to using positive leadership that inspires others to work hard, accept personal responsibility, and lean into their strengths while overcoming their weaknesses. I am also eager to build strong relationships with students, families and teachers.

In 2005 I graduated from Lewis and Clark State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Science. In 2010 I returned to college and graduated in 2012 with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. I began working in Lake Pend Oreille School District in September of 2012 as a life skills paraprofessional at Sandpoint High School. The following school year I was hired as a 6th grade teacher. I was blessed to begin my teaching career under the mentorship of an extremely intelligent and innovative teaching partner at Sagle Elementary School. I continued to teach 6th grade for two years before I transferred to 2nd grade; also at Sagle Elementary. In 2015, I resumed my own education, continued to teach, and worked diligently to graduate in 2017 with an Education Specialty Degree in Building Administration.

This year we are welcoming some new members to our dedicated and passionate staff at PRJH. Marisa Thornton is our new secretary, Hailey Pitts will be our new counselor, Alex Woodies will be teaching choir, Jake Eveland will be teaching 7th grade World History and 8th grade Geography, and Erin Eveland will be teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts.  We are grateful for these gifted individuals to be joining our staff at Priest River Junior High.

I look forward to meeting many of  you throughout the 2019-2020 school year; building  positive relationships focused on  assisting and empowering  students to reach their full potential in a safe learning environment.  If you need to discuss anything regarding your child and their education, my door is always open so please do not hesitate to drop in, call or email. ! I look forward to a fabulous year full of learning and growing!
